Surrogacy with an Agency
When deciding to pursue surrogacy the first choice you make is if you will use an agency or navigate independently. If you are new to all of this an agency can be such an amazing thing and highly recommended. My journey was anything but easy, My journey with surrogacy was never what I pictured it would be. Although it was the hardest thing I have ever gone through, It was worth every second. I would do this again a million times over without question. However I could not have done any of this without the support of my agency. They matched me with the best intended parents who were more than I could have ever asked for. They listened to my wants and needs and found the most amazing couple who were everything I was looking for in a match. A good agency is there for you and provides support and resources throughout your entire experience good or bad. While matching you with parents is important there is so much more that goes into what an agency does. I landed at my agency after starting at another agency where i saw so many red flags including trying to change my mind on termination, in house escrow, trying to avoid upholding a policy over money and many more. My agency was so respectful and I definitely felt like they truly cared about me as a person. I was free to make the best decisions for me which is super important. They recently started a program called Foundations of Surrogacy which is an educational course for all prospective surrogates. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in surrogacy to have a better understanding of the process before beginning. Something I really loved was being given a mentor with the mentor program. This is another surrogate who has completed a journey and can not only be a friend and support but help guide you in the best ways. My mentor had gone through very similar things as me. She was an amazing support person who helped me overcome the hard parts of my journey. Having gone though loss as a surrogate and being able to guide me through that was exactly what I needed. We not only helped each other but we became friends and someone I check in on regularly. The ladies over at family choice surrogacy were the people I turn to for everything. I could not have made it through the times I did without them, They guided me, helped me handle hard situations and were always a phone call away for anything I needed. They went out of the way to talk about my hard journey and because of that I found an amazing doctor in Utah who treated me like an individual and not a number on a sheet. I am so thankful for the relationships I had, the support that was provided and the overall care and dedication this agency gave me.
